The Vonda Kay is a 72-foot custom headboat running half-day and full-day deep-sea fishing trips out of Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Powered by twin diesel engines and fully USCG inspected, this vessel offers a comfortable ride to some of the best bottom fishing and offshore waters along the Carolina coast.
Half-day trips run 5 hours (9 AM to 2 PM) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, heading 10 to 20 miles offshore. These trips are great for families and first-time anglers, targeting species like Black Sea Bass, Grunts, and Red Drum.
Full-day trips run 10.5 hours (7 AM to 5:30 PM) on Thursday and Saturday, pushing 40 to 50 miles offshore to reach the productive deep-water reefs and ledges. Full-day trips target premium species including Vermilion Snapper, Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Gray Triggerfish, Red Porgy, Mahi-Mahi, Greater Amberjack, King Mackerel, and Cobia.
All fishing equipment and bait are provided, and your fishing license is covered. The full galley serves hot food and cold beverages throughout the trip, including beer at reasonable prices. Fish cleaning is available at the dock. Reservations are recommended, and private charters and evening cruises are available for groups. Note: outside alcohol is not permitted, and only soft coolers (12x12x12 max) are allowed on board.
