Shogun

The Shogun is a 90 foot by 30 foot steel long range boat that sails from Fisherman's Landing at 2838 Garrison Street in San Diego's Point Loma neighborhood. Owner and operator Rene Monteagudo runs her with Captain Conor Shanahan. She is rated for up to 33 passengers, and scheduled trips carry 20 to 27 anglers.

Trip lengths run from 1.5 days to 10 days or more. The 1.5 day trips fish local waters for yellowtail, calico bass and white seabass. Two and three day trips reach the offshore islands and banks for bluefin and yellowfin tuna and dorado. The longer trips work down the Baja coast for big yellowfin, wahoo, yellowtail and dorado. Posted fares range from $500 for a 1.5 day trip to $5,700 for a 10 day trip, paid by check, with credit card prices about 3 percent higher. A fuel surcharge applies on top.
