The Malihini is an 80 foot by 20 foot sportfishing boat at H&M Landing, 2803 Emerson Street, on San Diego Bay in Point Loma. Captains Bill Wilkerson and Peyton run her.
Open party trips are 3/4 day and full day. The boat fishes anywhere from 7 to 30 miles off Point Loma, including the Coronado Islands and the offshore kelps. Depending on the season the catch is yellowtail, bonito, barracuda, halibut, rockfish, white seabass and sculpin, with tuna and dorado on offshore days. Closer to home the half and 3/4 day trips work the coast for rockfish, lingcod and bass. Trips to the Coronado Islands need a valid passport, and the landing issues the Mexican tourist visa.
