Constitution Sportfishing

The Constitution is an 80 foot fiberglass sportfishing boat built in 1992 by Aqua Bay Marine. She sails from Fisherman's Landing on Garrison Street in San Diego and sleeps up to 21 anglers. Capt. Jeff Spafford owns and runs her.

Trips run from overnight up to 5 days, offshore after bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, yellowtail and dorado. The crew fishes live bait, lures, jigs, kites and balloons, and the season usually starts as early as March and runs into late fall. Open party seats are booked through Fisherman's Landing. The fall 2026 schedule shows a 3 day trip at about $1,371 and 5 day limited load trips at $1,863, with meals, bait and a bunk included. Longer trips into Mexican waters need a passport, and permits and visas cost extra.
