Searcher

About This Boat
A 95 foot long range sportfishing boat at Fisherman's Landing in San Diego, running 2 to 8 day trips into Mexican waters for tuna, yellowtail, wahoo and dorado.
The Searcher is a 95 foot, 25 foot wide mahogany sportfishing boat that docks at Fisherman's Landing, 2838 Garrison Street in San Diego. She was launched in 1970 as the Cape Polaris, the first long range sportfisher, and took the Searcher name in 1975. Captain Mike Todter and Chef Josh Evans have owned her since 2023.
Trips run from 2 to 8 days and fish offshore Southern California and down the Baja coast. Short trips chase bluefin tuna and yellowtail. The 7 and 8 day trips head as far as Alijos Rocks for yellowfin tuna, wahoo, dorado, white seabass and yellowtail. Loads run 14 to 28 anglers depending on the trip, and ultra limited loads give each angler a private stateroom.
