The Royal Polaris is a 113 foot long range boat out of San Diego running 3 to 16 day open trips into Mexican waters for tuna, yellowtail, dorado and wahoo.
The Royal Polaris is a 113 by 30 foot long range sportfishing boat based in San Diego, with its office at 2838 Garrison Street. Frank LoPreste is the owner and captain, and first time long range anglers are welcome.
The trips run by season. From late May through December, 3 to 6 day trips fish offshore as far as 400 miles south, including the Guadalupe Islands, for bluefin tuna, yellowtail and dorado. Spring and fall 7 to 11 day trips head to spots like Alijos Rocks for bluefin, yellowfin, dorado, yellowtail, wahoo, grouper and pargo. From January through April the 14 to 18 day trips go as far as Hurricane Bank, about 980 miles out, for wahoo and big yellowfin.
