Patriot Sportfishing

Patriot Sportfishing runs open party boat trips from Harford Pier at Port San Luis in Avila Beach, California. The main boat is the Patriot, a 55 foot boat that carries up to 39 passengers, and the Flying Fish also runs trips.

Rockcod season runs April 1 through December 31. Half day trips of 4 to 6 hours fish the local reefs off Port San Luis and Shell Beach. The 8 hour three quarter day usually works the local reefs or Point Sal in 60 to 300 feet of water, and the 10 hour all day trip ranges from Point Purisima to Point Buchon. The boats target rockcod and lingcod, and some trips go for halibut and seabass. From January through March the boats run 6 hour crab trips, where the crew pulls the pots and everyone gets an equal share of crab before fishing for sand dabs. In spring and late fall there is also an 8 hour rock and crab combo.
