About This Boat
Day and night open-boat fishing from City Island in the Bronx for porgy, striped bass, bluefish and fluke, plus Rhode Island blackfish, cod and offshore trips.
The Island Current fleet sails from 551 City Island Avenue in the Bronx from April through December, then moves to Rhode Island for fall and winter fishing out of Snug Harbor in Wakefield. The boats are the 42 foot Island Current, the 50 foot Island Current II, the 76 foot Island Current III and the 90 foot Super Current. Capt. Chris runs the operation.
At City Island the day boat leaves at 8 AM and returns around 3 PM, and the night boat leaves at 6:30 PM and gets back around 12:30 AM. Trips target jumbo porgies and other bottom fish, striped bass and bluefish, and fluke. Adults pay $80, seniors $75 and kids 12 and under $55, day or night. Striped bass trolling trips are $100. Rods rent for $5, and clams are included on porgy and striper trips.
