About This Boat
A 70 foot open boat sailing nearly year round from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, with full day bottom trips for blackfish, sea bass and porgies and night trips for striped bass and bluefish.
The Marilyn Jean IV is a 70 foot Lydia party boat that sails from Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn. Her home is Pier 6 on Emmons Avenue, but while the Parks Department rebuilds that pier the boat is running from Pier 2. Captain Tony has been running trips here almost daily for more than 20 years.
The boat fishes New York Harbor, Jamaica Bay, Rockaway, Coney Island and the Sandy Hook side off New Jersey. Day trips go after porgies, blackfish, sea bass, ling, cod and fluke depending on the season. Night trips are mostly for striped bass and bluefish, with weakfish at times. Full day trips run about 7 AM to 3 PM, half days run 8 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, and night trips run about 7 PM to midnight. In fall the full day trip fishes rocks and reefs in 50 to 100 feet of water for blackfish and sea bass.
