Mahi-Mahi Fishing in Florida

The warm Gulf Stream pushes close to shore along the southeast coast, putting mahi within reach on half-day and three-quarter-day party boat trips, something most other states cannot offer.

The Florida Keys and Palm Beach area are the most productive regions. In the Keys, boats may run just 10 to 15 miles offshore to find weed lines and current edges loaded with mahi. The Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale fleets access the Gulf Stream within a few miles of the inlet, making even short trips viable for targeting these fish. Further north, boats out of Stuart, Jupiter, and Daytona also get in on the action when the Stream swings close.
