Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing

Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing runs five charter boats from Queen Anne Marina in Stevensville on Kent Island, just over the Bay Bridge from Annapolis. The fleet is the 52 foot Jessie Girl, the 46 foot Vagabond, the 42 foot Kathy C, the 42 foot Sellfish and the 41 foot Valor. Most of the business is private charters, but they also sell walk-on seats so you can join a shared trip by yourself.

Walk-on trips go out on the Kathy C or the Valor with up to 10 anglers. Seats are $175 a person. Trips leave at 6 AM or 1 PM and last up to 6 hours or until everyone has their legal limit. The main target is rockfish (striped bass) during Maryland's open seasons, which in 2026 run May 1 to July 31 and September 1 to December 5. Bluefish, Spanish mackerel and white perch are also on the list, and blue catfish are fished year round.
