Flying Fish Fleet

The Flying Fish Fleet sails from the north end of Marina Jack on the Sarasota bayfront, at 2 Marina Plaza off Highway 41. The party boats are the Flying Fish, an 85 foot Gulf Craft aluminum boat for 70 passengers, and the Flying Fish II, a 50 foot fiberglass boat for up to 25. A third boat, the 43 foot Hatteras Big Catch, does private and split charters for up to 6.

The party boats run 4.5 hour trips from 8 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 6 PM for $90, a 6 hour trip from 8 AM to 2 PM for $110, and an 8 hour trip from 8 AM to 4 PM for $150. Seniors and children pay $80 on the short trip and $90 on the 6 hour trip. Expect 1 to 2 pound fish such as gray snapper, lane snapper, sand perch, Key West grunts, porgies and sea bass, with the odd king mackerel or keeper grouper.
