Prowler V

The Prowler 5 is an 80 foot open boat run by Captain Scott from the municipal harbor at 2 Simon Lake Drive in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. It sails every day at 7:30 a.m. and gets back around 2:30 p.m. No reservations are needed, and there is plenty of parking at the harbor.

The season follows the fish. Spring striped bass trips start at the end of March and run through April into May with shads, spoons and topwater plugs. Fluke trips run from early May to late September in the ocean, along with jumbo sea bass. In fall the boat fishes sea bass on fresh clams, then striped bass with shads from late October into December. Blackfish trips with green crabs start around Black Friday and run to the end of January, and winter wreck trips go for sea bass, ling, cod, winter flounder and blackfish. The captains set two anchors on the wrecks to hold the boat over the structure.
