Half-day party boat fishing on Vineyard Sound from Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, for sea bass, fluke, scup and tautog.
The Skipper is a Coast Guard inspected party boat that sails from Slip 74 in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, near the Island Queen dock. Captain John Potter has owned her for close to three decades. A diesel engine runs her at about 10 knots, and the fishing grounds in Vineyard Sound are a short ride away in protected water.
In summer there are two four hour trips a day, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. In spring and fall she runs one trip from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The usual catch is black sea bass, fluke, scup and tautog, with striped bass and bluefish caught too.
