Nor'easter

The F/V Nor'easter is a 42 foot Bruno and Stillman that sails from 4 Western Avenue in Kennebunk, Maine. Captain Michael Perkins comes from a long line of commercial fishermen and still lobsters in the winter. The boat is certified for 24 passengers, which leaves plenty of room at the rail.

The daily trip runs about 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The boat steams roughly 20 miles offshore and jigs for haddock, pollock and cod, with cusk, hake and halibut also caught. They fish with heavy handmade jigs and teasers, not bait, so leave your clams at home. A seat costs $95. For a longer run there is an 18 hour overnight trip to offshore banks about 100 miles out for 10 to 12 adults; call for that price.
