Family-run party boat fishing out of Hampton, NH, with full day bottom trips for cod, haddock and pollock plus shorter striped bass, mackerel and night trips.
Al Gauron runs two boats, the Northern Star and the White Star, from the harbor by the Hampton River bridge in Hampton, New Hampshire. The same family has been taking anglers out of Hampton Beach for more than 75 years.
The full day trip is the one most people book. It runs about nine hours from April through October and fishes the bottom 12 to 30 miles out for cod, haddock and pollock. On Mondays from June through October there is a 12 hour marathon. If you only have a morning, the five hour trip works the nearer ledges for haddock and pollock, and when the ocean is rough it stays closer to shore for striped bass or winter flounder.
